Managing system resources in services You can view and interact with a service in PowerFlex Manager to perform compliance, health, and lifecycle management on the deployed infrastructure. PowerFlex Manager can discover PowerFlex rack environments that were deployed outside of PowerFlex Manager. PowerFlex Manager supports the deployment of services that can contain any of the following types of PowerFlex nodes: PowerFlex hyperconverged node PowerFlex storage-only node PowerFlex compute-only node Child TopicsManaging external changesService informationYou can view information about a service such as the overall service health, deployment details, and user permissions. Service actionsYou can perform various actions to a service that is deployed. Service mode optionsPowerFlex Manager supports short-term and long-term maintenance options for putting a node in service mode. Adding volumes Resize a volumeAfter adding volumes to a service, you can resize the volumes. Add a network to a service You can add an available network to a service or choose to define a new network for a service that was initially deployed outside of PowerFlex Manager. You cannot remove an added network using PowerFlex Manager. Reconfiguring MDM rolesPowerFlex Manager enables you to change the MDM role for a node in a PowerFlex cluster. For example, if you add a node to the cluster, you might want to switch the MDM role from another node to the new node. Remove a serviceYou can remove a service that is no longer required. Services deployed outside of PowerFlex ManagerPowerFlex Manager can discover PowerFlex rack environments that are deployed outside of PowerFlex Manager. It discovers existing VMware vSphere clusters as existing services. PowerFlex Manager can then perform alerting, health monitoring, and RCM compliance monitoring and remediation on these services.
