Verifying connectivity between Storage Data Servers and Storage Data Clients Verify the connectivity between each Storage Data Server (SDS) and Storage Data Client (SDC) by pinging each one. About this task Every VxFlex OS host has both SDCs and SDSs deployed on them. An SDC is a lightweight driver that is deployed directly on VMware ESXi and an SDS is a virtual appliance that is deployed on every host providing storage to the VxFlex OS storage pool. Procedure Open an SSH session with an VMware ESXi or Red Hat Virtualization host using PuTTy or a similar SSH client. Enter the root login credentials, and log in to the host. Ping each SDC and SDS using a 9K packet. Repeat for each VMware ESXi or Red Hat Virtualization host. Open an SSH session with an SDS host using PuTTy or a similar SSH client. Enter the root login credentials, and log in to the host. Ping each SDS. Repeat for each SDS host.
