Add a VLAN to a Cisco Nexus production network

Perform the following sequential procedures to add a VLAN to the production Cisco Nexus network.

  • Identify the servers in the production compute cluster and the corresponding access switches for which they are connected to.
  • Add a VLAN to the following:
    • Uplink port channels
    • Virtual port channel (vPC) peer links
    • Server port channels on each access switch
  • Add a distributed port group to the VxFlex integrated rack production to the VMware ESXi compute cluster or a VLAN to the Red Hat Virtualization compute cluster. This will establish end-to-end connectivity from the VM to the production network.
  • Verify the VLAN.
