VMware NSX-T requirements

There are requirements for VMware NSX-T that you must complete before using the Dell EMC PowerOne System.

PowerOne uses VMware NSX-T for network virtualization on the VMware vCenter Server in the production environment. NSX-T is an optional feature of PowerOne. To understand the requirements for the physical network and cluster to use NSX-T in your PowerOne, see the relevant VMware Validated Design, at the VMware website.

Note the following:

  • NSX-T supports only the BGP routing protocol.
  • Redundantly connect the top-of-rack (ToR) switches and your switches to ensure availability during a switch failure.
  • The maximum transmission unit (MTU) value that is specified on the customer switches must be similar to the value configured on the ToR switches. The supported MTU is 9000.
